如果你是《Friends》的超级粉丝， 或许你有听过这首歌： 第五季22集里， Joey得到了出演一个独立电影主角的机会， 但当他在纽约大桥上扔掉Chandler, 然后在这首《A Horse With No Name》的背景音乐下兴冲冲杀到Las Vagas的时候， 却被告知电影因为没钱取消了…

在《Friends》中， 层出不穷的笑料会让你忽略了这些小人物的彷徨徘徊，隐藏在欢笑背后的其实是小人物的喜怒哀乐，悲欢离合；他们也都有自己的梦想，也都全力在拼搏，只是现实却并不如卡内基的成功学所说的那样，只需要每天给自己洗脑就能改变的。

《Firends》中，每个主角都典型代表了某一类普通人；有着不同的背景不同的性格，和不同的命运。Joey这个角色是个潦倒的三流演员，来自意大利籍移民家庭，没有受过高等教育；最大的愿望就是演戏；为了出镜他不择手段地争取所有角色，扮演过糟糕的话剧，做过大牌的屁股替身，扮演过一具完全没有露面得尸体… 除了长的不错善于泡妞之外Joey似乎毫无长处；但令人印象深刻的是他一直坚持着自己的梦想——尽管长期处于失业状态，经常有上顿没下顿靠好友接济。

Joey唯一一次爆发，就是他主演过《Days of our life》，但也因为得罪编剧而“被跳电梯”；而这段日子也成了他解不开的心结， 使得很长一段时间内他都沉浸这个角色的成功中而无法自拔，更不愿再去屈就小角色，直到他年纪越来越大演艺圈新人越来越多， 迫于压力才重新接演小角色。

当得到独立电影的男主角的机会时，他满怀希望地认为这是他事业的”Big Break”； 他是如此坚信这点，乃至于好友Chandler只是稍微表示一点异议就被他无情的在纽约的大桥上从车上赶出去，还把他带的毛衣套上途中的一群狗身上。而现实却是当他风尘仆仆地赶去Las Vegas的时候，电影却因为没有投资而流产，而此时的Joey，已经没有钱回家了….

当无论如何失意，Joey都有一直支持和关心他的五个好朋友… 也许这就是小人物幸运的地方吧..
